Spend your time on ideas. Not on busywork.
Lumenwerk takes over the editing steps that repeat on every video, the way you would do them. It starts with Autocut. You keep the creative calls.

Step one · Autocut
Everything you cut by hand on every video.
Six passes over the recording, each one a step you would otherwise do yourself in the timeline.
01
Pauses
Dead air between sentences, shortened to a length you set or removed.
02
Filler words
Um, uh, like, you know, in English, German and the other supported languages.
03
Stutters
Repeated starts and broken words, cut to the clean one.
04
Retakes
When you say a sentence twice, the better take stays. You can swap it.
05
Noises
Coughs, clicks, breaths before a line and the clap at the start.
06
Soft cuts
Cuts land between words, with a few frames of air so nothing sounds chopped.
Rules find the cuts. An editor’s judgment decides them.
Silence detectors cut every pause, including the one before your punchline. Autocut reads the whole transcript first and stops the cuts that would hurt.
- A pause for effect stays.
- A filler word that is part of the joke stays.
- A sentence you repeat on purpose is not a retake.
- Every cut shows its reason, and one click brings it back.
Three steps, then back to your editor.
- 1
Drop your recording
MP4, MOV or audio. A 20-minute video is ready in a few minutes.
- 2
Check the cuts
Read the transcript with the removed parts struck through, play the edit, untick what should stay.
- 3
Export
XML for DaVinci Resolve, Premiere Pro and Final Cut Pro, an MP4, or the cut audio.
Autocut is the first step.
Cutting the gaps is only part of the work that repeats on every video. We take over the rest one step at a time, and each one ships only once it holds up on real recordings.
Autocut
Pauses, filler words, stutters, retakes and noises.

Background noise, room echo and uneven levels, cleaned in your browser.
In testing

Word-accurate subtitles, plain or animated, as SRT or burned in.
In testing

Punch-ins on the moments that should land, timed to the word.

YouTube chapters, lower thirds and keywords from what you said.
In testing
Your own workflow
The steps in your order, with your settings, run on every new video.
Later
Your video never leaves your computer.
Autocut reads the video in your browser. Only the audio track goes out for the transcript; the picture is never uploaded.
Questions
Which videos is Autocut for?
Long-form talking-head videos: YouTube videos, tutorials, podcasts on camera, courses. Anything where you talk and later cut the gaps by hand.
Is Lumenwerk only Autocut?
For now, yes. Autocut comes first because every long-form video needs it. Sound, captions, zooms and titles are next: they are being tested on real videos and come into the product one by one.
Does it work with my editing software?
Yes. Export the cut as XML and open it in DaVinci Resolve, Premiere Pro or Final Cut Pro, with every cut as an edit point you can still move.
Will it cut things I wanted to keep?
It is built not to. Autocut weighs every cut in the context of the whole video, and you see each one with its reason before you export.
Which languages work?
English and German are tested most. Transcripts work in many more languages; filler words are detected per language.
What does it cost?
Nothing during the closed beta. After that, Autocut is part of every paid plan.
